Sony Reveals Dan Aykroyd’s ‘Ghostbusters’ Cameo

Categories: Uncategorized

hhDan Aykroyd has officially been seen in the new Ghostbusters reboot.

Aykroyd’s cameo was used for a TV spot in the UK for the upcoming Sony film.

Although he wrote and starred in the original, it seems Aykroyd does not make an appearance as Ray Stantz in Paul Feig’s female-led supernatural comedy/action film.

Over the holiday weekend, Aykroyd — who is listed as an executive producer on the film — wrote on Facebook that he saw a test screening of the movie, which stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth, and he enjoyed it.

“Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films plus Bill Murray is in it!” Aykroyd, who has a financial stake in the new film, wrote. “As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I’m paying to see that and bringing all my friends!”

Sam The Record Man Sign Set to Light Up Toronto Again

Categories: Uncategorized

sam1Sam Snidermam’s Yonge & Dundas record shop was a musical landmark for generations of Toronto music lovers, but since Sam the Record Man permanently closed its doors back in 2007, the fate of its iconic spinning neon sign has been up in the air — unfortunately, not literally, though. Now, after years of confusion (during which the sign has sat in storage), the massive lit-up pair of records is finally slated to be raised again by the end of this summer. Ryerson University bought the building that housed Sam’s back in 2008, removing the sign that used to tower over the downtown intersection and placing it into storage. The school was granted permission to demolish and rebuild on the property’s site, provided it preserve the glowing sign, and a new student learning centre has since been erected where the store used to stand. City council, meanwhile, voted to reinstall the sign a block away from the shop’s former location, on the outside wall of 277 Victoria St. Back in February, Ryerson announced that the sign had begun to undergo a refurbishing process, but failed to outline an estimated date of completion for the restoration. Music journalist Nicholas Jennings has now told FYI Music News [via AUX], though, that that sign should be ready to rise again very soon. “It’s going to be restored and hopefully by the end of summer,” he said. “It had to go through all kinds of tests, wind tests, engineering studies and what else but it will go on top of a city owned building in Dundas Square and will be prominently visible and light up again, both spinning discs.” He added, “It will serve as a great reminder of the neon glory and role music, record stores and clubs played in the lives of people in this city.”

Larry Hagman: Not The Man You Thought

lhDallas Star’s Dark and Twisted Double Life Revealed!

Larry Hagman was a depraved womanizer who was caught cheating on his wife even as he lay dying from cancer in November 2012!

While parading himself to the public as the perfect husband to longtime wife, Maj, the iconized “Dallas” star led a dark double life fuelled by marijuana, LSD, booze and sleazy young mistresses!

These shocking revelations come from a blockbuster book written by his own daughter Kristina!

“The blissful marriage my folks always presented to the public had a sad, hidden side,” she says.

One of his paramours – a brunette who was his daughter’s age – visited the hospital ICU where the 81-year-old star was in the final days of his battle with throat cancer.

“(She) crawled into bed with Dad,” reveals Kristina, 58, in “The Eternal Party: Understanding My Dad, Larry Hagman, the TV Star America Loved to Hate.”

Shortly before his final hospitalization, Kristina discovered he had taken a second lover – a woman one year older than her — when Hagman mistakenly sent her a text addressed to “the most BEAUTIFUL woman in the world.”

Far from being ashamed, “He was excited to tell me all about it,” says Kristina. “They had met while the new ‘Dallas’ was being shot and he was having (cancer) treatment.”

His lovers turned out in force for his memorials in Dallas and Los Angeles. They included the woman who bedded him in the ICU and a TV talk show host who “made a point of telling me that being with my father for years in Santa Fe (where Hagman owned a home) had been the greatest experience of her life,” says Kristina. ”

Driven to drink by his many infidelities, and struggling with the early stages of Alzheimer’s, faithful Swedish-born Maj was no match for Larry’s squeezes.

“My mother, who was a few years older than Dad, (had) gained some weight over the last few years, and wore minimal make-up and had towel-dried, frosty-white hair,” Kristina says.

Maj hysterically admitted to her daughter in the late 1980s that Larry no longer wanted to have sex with her and was crushed by mounting evidence of his endless cheating.

She was particularly humiliated in 1992 when it was reported he was having a lurid affair with shapely blond business executive, MaryAnn Effingham, who said the then 61-year-old star “liked gentle, but KINKY love-making.”

“One time we were fooling around with his friend’s vibrator and Larry broke it,” she said. “It was smoking and sizzling and making weird noises. It was hysterical.”

Effingham further embarrassed Maj when she said Larry “was not a happy man — especially at home. He referred to being at home as ‘being in prison.’”

Larry’s daughter described Hagman as a “happy drunk,” but completely dependent on booze and pot to get through the day.

“I hardly ever saw my father when he wasn’t stoned or cruising on wine,” she writes. “I don’t think I ever saw him sober except for a brief period just before and just after his liver transplant (in 1995), which had become necessary after he was diagnosed with alcohol-induced cirrhosis of the liver.”

He started drinking heavily when he was 14, Kristina says, in “a rebellion” against the strict grandmother who brought him up. His mother, “South Pacific” star Mary Martin, was a lesbian, according to Hollywood insiders, with little interest in children or men. After her brief marriage to Hagman’s father, Texas attorney Ben Hagman, broke up, she took a Paramount story editor Richard Halliday, as her second husband. It was a marriage of convenience for them both.

Halliday’s “style and manner suggested he was gay,” Kristina says.

Hagman would have been an even BIGGER booze-hound, she says, had he not palled around with another Hollywood horn-dog.

“Dad might have been even more of a drinker if he hadn’t met Jack Nicholson, who turned him onto pot, the substance he fell permanently in love with,” says Kristina, who was eight when she ate two brownies she found hidden in their home, not knowing they were laced with marijuana.

“He so completely embraced the sex, drugs and rock-and-roll ethos of (the ’60s) that he lived it to the end of his days,” Kristina writes. “Once he casually suggested we do LSD together.” She went along with his suggestion, hoping she could “at last understand who he was.”

He died on November 23, 2012 at the ironic hour of 4:20 p.m.

“This particular time was significant because 420 is the unofficial symbol for the use and appreciation of one of Dad’s favorite substances: marijuana.”

When Kristina checked his fridge on the day he she found it packed with pot brownies.

Harambe Petition Calls For Parents To Be Held Responsible In Gorilla’s Death

Categories: Uncategorized

gorilla2A 17-year-old gorilla was shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo after a four-year-old boy climbed into the animal’s enclosure. The incident has since sparked public backlash and prompted a petition calling for the boy’s parents to be held responsible for the gorilla’s death.

According to ABC News, the child climbed through a barrier to get into the Ohio zoo’s Gorilla World exhibit and fell about 10-feet into a moat. There, a 400-pound male lowland gorilla name Harambe got a hold of the boy.

Videos of the incident posted online show Harambe grabbing and dragging the boy.

The youngster was in the exhibit with Harambe for about 10 minutes before the animal was fatally shot.

A Change.org petition entitled “Justice for Harambe” is now claiming that the boy’s parents are to blame for the gorilla’s tragic death.

“We the undersigned believe that the child would not have been able to enter the enclosure under proper parental supervision,” the petition reads. “Witnesses claim that they heard the child state that he wished to go into the enclosure and was actively trying to breach the barriers. This should have prompted the parents to immediately remove the child from the vicinity.

“It is believed that the situation was caused by parental negligence and the zoo is not responsible for the child’s injuries and possible trauma.”

In just two days, the petition has already racked up more than 120,000 supporters. The hashtag #JusticeforHarambe has also made the rounds online, with many using it to voice their criticism of the parents and utter disappointment with the entire incident.

The Cincinnati Zoo made the decision to put down Harambe after the situation was deemed “life-threatening.” The option to use a tranquilizer was ruled out since it would not have had an immediate effect because of the gorilla’s agitated state, zoo director Thayne Maynard explained.

“We are heartbroken about losing Harambe, but a child’s life was in danger and a quick decision had to be made,” he added in a statement.

Regarding the incident, witness Brittany Nicely told ABC News, “The gorilla rushed the boy, but did not hit the boy. He almost was guarding the boy, was protecting him.”

In line with Nicley’s observations, PETA released a statement saying, “Gorillas are self-aware. They love, laugh, sing, play, and grieve. Western lowland gorillas are gentle animals. They don’t attack unless they’re provoked.”

However, PETA believes the zoo’s barriers should have been fortified.

The four-year-old boy, who was hospitalized on Saturday, is now at home recovering, AP reports.

Kirsten Storms Reveals Why She’s Taking A Break From ‘General Hospital’

Categories: Uncategorized

xxxxKirsten Storms is putting her health first and letting ‘General Hospital’ take a back seat for a bit. Read her full statement on why she’s taking a break from her ABC family.

It’s hard to imagine General Hospital without seeing Kirsten Storms‘ face, but the 32-year-old mother and actress just revealed that she actually needs to take care of a health issue, that’s being caused by stress!

“Tweeters! First, thank you for the outpouring of love & support. I appreciate all the positive message I’ve received,” she wrote on Twitter. “Second, yes I am taking a little break from work due to some skin issues I’ve been having.”

She continued, “My dr’s say my breakouts are due to stress, but shouldn’t take too long to get under control. (I can say that I’m on the better end of it now) However, it was becoming too difficult for GH to cover up. And we all know in this biz appearance is important.”

This is not the first time Kirsten has taken a break from the show; she left in fall of 2011 after experiencing issues from endometriosis. Now, Maxie Jones will be temporarily played by Days of Our Lives‘ Molly Burnett; the news was broke by Daytime Confidential, and confirmed by Kirsten in this tweet.

Last month, it was reported that Kirsten and her GH costar Brandon Barash had divorced after a three year marriage; so it will of course be good for her to have some time to de-stress.

On May 29, she posted the following on Twitter:

‘Game Of Thrones’: 10 Key Moments From ‘Blood Of My Blood’

Categories: Uncategorized

ddWhat’s an episode of Game of Thrones without Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in the mix?

That was a question fans were forced to ask all throughout the off-season, given Jon’s death at the hands of the Night’s Watch mutineers. But ever since his resurrection, Jon and his brewing war against House Bolton has taken a central and essential role. However, even former Lord Commanders require some rest every now and again; for the first time since the season six premiere, the story at Castle Black and surrounding areas took a seat on the bench, set to resume in next week’s episode, “The Broken Man.”

With Jon absent from the hour, several other stories stepped into the spotlight, including the return of some long forgotten figures — both friend and foe.

Here are all the key moments from “Blood of my Blood,” the sixth episode of Game of Thrones season six.

  1. The Never-Ending Nightmare

Without the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow), will Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) still be able to visit the past? That was one of the biggest questions coming out of “The Door,” and now, we have our answer. Bran begins the episode still tripping down the rabbit hole, seeing a slew of visions including his own fall from Winterfell and the horrors at Hardhome. While the Raven is dead, his powers live on through Bran — both a blessing and a curse for the young warg.

  1. “Burn Them All”

Bran’s visions this week are quick but important, especially one in particular: Mad King Aerys Targaryen, barking orders at his minions to “burn them all.” It’s a vision of the final night of Aerys’ reign as he threatened to level King’s Landing to the ground rather than surrender to Robert’s Rebellion. Several recent time-travel theories center on Bran having a role in Aerys’ descent into madness, and his appearance here only further fuels that speculation.

  1. Bran Sees His Parents

Another important thing to notice in Bran’s visions: he witnesses the deaths of his father Ned (Sean Bean) and Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley). Is it possible that Bran’s time-displaced spirit was actually present for both their murders? Catelyn’s return in particular should spark some fan theories about a certain book character left out of the show so far — especially given the series’ revitalized Riverlands storyline.

  1. In From the Cold

Speaking of characters left out of the adaptation thus far, one of George R.R. Martin’s most mysterious figures finally emerged: Coldhands, a frozen guardian who protects Bran’s party in the books. His identity has not been confirmed in the pages of A Song of Ice and Fire yet, but at least for the show, he stands revealed as Benjen Stark (Joseph Mawle), Bran’s uncle not seen since season one. With Benjen back in the action, one of the show’s longest-running questions has officially been answered.

  1. The Seven’s Landing

In King’s Landing, the conflict between the Red Keep and the Faith Militant comes to a head, in a very unexpected way. Rather than spilling blood on the streets, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) loses the war due to his own son’s actions: King Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman) forges an alliance with the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce), completely upending the power structure within King’s Landing, even if Tommen does not immediately realize it.

  1.  Return to Riverrun

The Riverlands are set for a resurgence in season six, having already been mentioned during “The Door,” with Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) telling Sansa (Sophie Turner) that her uncle Bryndyn the Blackfish (Clive Russell) has overtaken Riverrun. Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) is already on her way to seek the Blackfish’s aid, and now, Jaime rides toward the castle as well, on the other side of the battlefield. With that, the pieces are in play for one of the books’ most dramatic cliffhangers to play out on the show.

  1. Into the Frey

There’s not much to discuss when it comes to Walder Frey (David Bradley) returning to the show, and yet, his very presence is enough to inspire some bone-deep fury. Viewers have not seen the traitorous monster since the Red Wedding’s aftermath, but House Frey’s return to the show can only mean their imminent collapse — at least, one can hope.

  1. Faceless No More

Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) turns her back on the House of Black and White, refusing to kill Lady Crane (Essie Davis). The Waif (Faye Marsay) witnesses Arya’s inaction, and is officially given the go ahead from Jaqen H’ghar (Tom Wlaschiha) to kill her nemesis. To quote Samwell Tarly (John Bradley), she can bloody well try; Arya recovers Needle from its hiding spot, revealing that the Young Wolf of House Stark is once again ready for action.

  1. Stealing Steel

Speak of Sam and swords, the hopeful future maester of the Citadel steals his family’s ancestral weapon: Heartsbane, a Valyrian sword that has been in House Tarly’s possession for centuries. Even though he’s killed enemies in the past, Sam isn’t exactly the world’s greatest swordsman. Still, the addition of another Valyrian sword in the impending war against the White Walkers can only mean good news for the good guys.

  1. The Mother of Speeches

At long last, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is ready to do what fans have wanted from her for six seasons now. She ends the episode with a rousing speech, promising to conquer Westeros, and asking her Dothraki followers to join her across the Narrow Sea. Given their enthusiasm, it seems like they’re ready to follow orders, pushing Dany further along the path toward the Seven Kingdoms than ever before.

Inside Britney Spears’ Ongoing Fight For Freedom

Categories: Top Stories

britney-spearsAfter Britney Spears performed at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that the pop princess believes she is finally ready to stand on her own!

According to a source close to Spears, 34 – who has been under the court-ordered conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears since her infamous meltdown in 2009 – “Britney is in machine mode right now and she is determined to get back complete control of her life.”

“She has never been so determined to take the crown back and this performance was just the beginning,” said the insider.

However, as Radar reported, while the mother of two sons from ex-husband Kevin Federline, 38 – Sean Preston, 10, and Jayden James, 9 – continues to perform in her Las Vegas “Piece of Me” residency, she has been facing down a lawsuit from her former friend, Sam Lutfi.

“Britney has really been going through it mentally with this whole trial thing,” the source told Radar.

“She says she wants nothing more than to move on from all of this mess, but her past keeps coming back to haunt her!”

Meanwhile, according to the insider, her life is still carefully controlled in many ways.

According to the insider, “Not many people know this, but the most mundane things that we take for granted, such as using our cell phone as we want to, are forbidden for Britney.”

“Her phone calls and texts are monitored and she cannot even go into the Apple Store to download apps because of her conservatorship”

“She clearly does not have her freedom yet and she is ready to take back control of her life,” the insider added.

Obviously by her fake performance, she continues to be in dire need of her meds. It’s actually quite sad really.

The Weeknd Cancels Because Of Donald Trump

Categories: Top Stories

donald-trumpR&B singer The Weeknd and rapper Belly have canceled their performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” because Donald Trump was set to appear on the episode.

The Oscar-nominated musicians were slated to record their performance Wednesday in Los Angeles for the late-night ABC show. Belly said he canceled because he didn’t want to share a stage with Trump and disagrees with the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s views and beliefs.

“I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world — from religion to race,” Belly said in a statement. “I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don’t agree with.”

Trump has been criticized by some political rivals and voters for his comments on topics including women, refugees, immigrants and Muslims, such as when he said some Mexican immigrants in the U.S. illegally are “rapists” and when he called for a ban on Muslim immigration into the United States.

A Trump spokeswoman didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment on The Weeknd and Belly.

The Jimmy Kimmel show had no comment, a representative said. Representatives for The Weeknd didn’t immediately respond to emails seeking comment.

The Weeknd won two Grammy Awards earlier this year, including best urban contemporary album for “Beauty Behind the Madness.” Belly has co-written many of The Weeknd’s hits, including “Earned It,” ”The Hills,” ”Into the Night” and “Often.”

The Weeknd appears on Belly’s song “Might Not,” which they were set to perform on Kimmel’s show.

Belly, who’s signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation management, will release a new mixtape, “Another Day In Paradise,” on Friday.

“I’m here on a campaign of positivity and love and to contribute what I can to music,” Belly said. “I create songs people go to sleep and wake up to, songs that they fall in love to. For me, being Muslim and being somebody that appreciates my access here in America, I love the fact that I’m able to be here. To play my part in this business is a privilege and a beautiful thing. The fact that I could lose that ability through the actions of someone such as Donald Trump isn’t right to me. At all.”

Belly shared an Oscar nomination for best original song with The Weeknd for “Earned It,” which appears on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” soundtrack.

Belly and The Weekend are from Canada. Belly also co-wrote Beyonce’s “6 Inch,” which features vocals from The Weeknd and appears on her “Lemonade” album.

McDonald Reignites Feud With Handler

Categories: Top Stories

chelsea-handler-and-heather-mcdonaldChelsea Handler‘s feud with her former Chelsea Lately employee,  Heather McDonald, is back on! In an interview with RadarOnline.com Tuesday night, McDonald couldn’t help but pick at old wounds.

“I don’t know why Chelsea said that I sold stories because I never did!” McDonald insisted in a chat with Radar. Handler previously said she gave weekly magazines info on her boss in exchange for positive coverage of her own projects.

Anyone that worked for her show will vouch for that. It was absolutely not true. I still don’t know why she said it, but I wish her well.”

“Unfortunately, I did not have a spot on Howard Stern to defend myself,” McDonald jabbed, referencing Handler’s promotional tour at the time of the feud.

Now, “I am glad that she is happy and that she is doing her own thing. Everyone is doing well and I think that we have all moved on from that,” McDonald told Radar while attending The Abbey’s 25th Anniversary celebration in West Hollywood, Calif.,

Chelsea Lately was a great time and everyone from that show is doing great things now,” McDonald – who is currently on tour while doing a wildly successful podcast, Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald,   “I am just glad it is over with.”

The battle between Handler, 41, and McDonald, 45, began when McDonald appeared on Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss‘ podcast, Allegedly. While chatting on the podcast, McDonald said that she “100 percent lived in fear” as a writer for Chelsea Lately, which ran from 2007-2014.

After Handler got word of McDonald’s comments, she fired back by telling Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show, “When I found out at work that she was trading stories to Us Weekly about my personal life in exchange for having her pictures run in the magazine, I could have fired her.”
