Madonna Chats with Fallon on Facebook

Categories: Uncategorized

The normally social media-shy Madonna embraced the massive Facebook audience yesterday by sitting down with Jimmy Fallon at FB HQ for an interview that was livestreamed online. Maddy and Jimmy discussed a range of topics, leading up to tomorrow’s official release of her new album M.D.N.A. Click below to see some photos of Madonna and Jimmy at yesterday’s Facebook event and watch the entire 24 minute interview in full.

Madonna chatted with Jimmy Fallon Saturday evening, but it wasn’t on the set of NBC’s “Late Night.” The pop star was interviewed during a live stream on her Facebook page to take questions from fans and to promote her 12th studio album, “MDNA.” The album will be released Monday. In a strategy that has been praised for avoiding overexposure, Madonna has been noticeably absent from the talk show and magazine circuit, and has instead been promoting new songs and behind-the-scenes videos online. According to Fallon, the Facebook stream would be her only promotional interview ahead of the album’s release. “What if it doesn’t work out?” Fallon joked of the interview. “You’re Madonna. But did you think about my career?” After getting some dance instruction, Fallon turned to Madonna’s upcoming tour, asking if fans would see elements from her bombastic Super Bowl halftime show. “I don’t want to repeat myself. I did that already,” Madonna said. Madonna wouldn’t reveal which songs would be performed during the MDNA tour, but did say she likes her shows to be divided into acts. The first act of the upcoming tour will be titled “Transgression.” “I like to have a theme for my show and create a dramatic arc,” Madonna said. “Then I try to make the songs fit within that arc.” On why she chose M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj as collaborators for the album, Madonna said: “Because they’re badass bitches. They’re both smart, clever. They have strength. They don’t just play on their sexuality.” The 53-year-old pop icon also told Fallon rehearsals for the tour have been “violent.” “I’m covered in bruises right now,” Madonna said. Madonna kicks off her tour in Israel May 29, with U.S. dates following in August.

I love that Madonna made it clear that she does not like to repeat herself … she leaves that to lesser, more reductive pop wannabes 🙂 As you may recall, we got to hear Madonna‘s Sirius XM interview last week and like this Facebook chat, she was very relaxed … and personable. I love it. I’ve been listening to M.D.N.A. on repeat for a few days (fyi, I was sent an official promo copy for review) now and I have to say, I grow to love it with each listen. While I think I still prefer Confessions on a Dancefloor slightly, M.D.N.A. is a fantastic record. I can’t wait for all y’all to hear it, too. As for this Facebook chat, it was very cool .. yeah?

The More Facebook Friends You Have, the More Unhappy You Probably Are

Categories: Uncategorized

A new study has discovered a direct link between the number of friends you have on Facebook and how much of a “socially disruptive narcissist” you are—giving us one more reason to tone down our Facebook addictions.

Researchers atWestern Illinoisstudied 294 college students and found that those with more friends on Facebook tended to score higher on the Narcissistic Personality Inventory questionnaire. They tended to respond more aggressively to comments, change their profile pictures more often, and updated their news feeds more regularly than others.

This may not be all that surprising, but it does provide a bit of motivation to re-evaluate what Facebook does for you, if you fit into one of these categories (and if not, at least you can stop feeling bad about not having very many Facebook friends—it’s probably a good thing). None of this is to say Facebook is inherently bad, of course. It’s still a great way to keep in touch with family and friends, especially after you’ve fixed all of its annoyances—you might just want to dial back on all the photo tagging. While you’re at it, you can also move some of those friends to your Acquaintances list using Facebook’s new tool, which will hide them from your news feed more often.

Written by Whitson Gordon Criticizes Simon Cowell Over Talent Show Winners

Categories: Uncategorized

Black Eyed Peas frontman has accused Simon Cowell of failing to develop the talented hopefuls who appear on his TV contests.

The rapper insists Cowell lets down his acts by not providing them with career guidance after they compete in shows such as The X Factor. cites British teenage singer/rapper Cher Lloyd, who competed in The X Factor in 2010 but who the hip-hop star claims has not been given the “right material” to record after being signed to Cowell’s Syco Music label.

He tells Britain’s The Sun, “I love Cher Lloyd. She should have been the biggest star in the world. She should have had the coolest freaking music.

“It’s like they put them out, juice them, juice them, juice them, and give people something to watch on TV. Then, who is making sure she has the right material? That is wrong.”

And the “Boom Boom Pow” hitmaker, who is now a judge on the U.K. version of The Voice, insists he’ll do everything in his power to help the wannabes he works with.

He adds, “I told every person on my team that I am going to try my hardest to see their career is jump-started or revitalized regardless of whether they win or not.”

Man Scales the New York Times Tower for a Newspaper

Categories: Uncategorized

Evidently unaware that you can get The New York Times on the street, an “emotionally disturbed” man attempted to climb up the side of the New York Times headquarters because he wanted a copy of the paper.

In the past, two climbers have made it to the roof of the building before getting arrested. This man didn’t have quite that much stamina.

A police spokesman says the man got as far as the fifth floor, then came back down when officers told him to descend. He was not injured but was taken to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

Here’s hoping they at least gave him a copy of The New York Times to read while he’s under observation.

Kim the Princess Kardashian was Floured

Categories: Uncategorized

KimKardashian, our #1 Moroon Girl has spoken out about her flour bombing which occurred during a red carpet appearance on Thursday, saying it was a form of bullying. Personally the way Kim and her family act, it’s a form of bullying all onto itself.

Ms Kardashian was promoting her new fragrance, True Reflection (the only reflection I’d imagine is of Kim herself), at a charity event for women’s organization Dress For Success at the London Hotel in West Hollywood when an unidentified animal rights campaigner threw white powder at her as she posed for photos and chatted to reporters. She was targeted allegedly over her love of fur, she says she was stunned by the incident but was determined to brush herself off and return to the event out of respect for the party’s organizers and their guests. The reality is, Kim doesn’t do anything in her life that doesn’t include some form of publicity. Some have suggested this whole thing was a Kim Kardashian publicity stunt. After all Kim did have another outfit standing by for some reason. Whether staged or not, you be the judge.
She tells, “What was sad about the event was we were supporting Dress For Success… I didn’t want their organization to be overshadowed by this… It’s just sad when someone, you know, whatever your beliefs are, if you’re acting in a violent way and doing something that is illegal, that’s not OK and that’s bullying and I don’t promote that.”
The attacker was detained by police but Kardashian declined to press charges – because she’s got too many other legal issues to resolve.
Kim explains, “Don’t I have one too many lawsuits going on right now? Do you think I really need to add another one? I mean I thought about it, but to be honest, it would have taken (too long). I would have had to go down there (to the police station), wasted about an hour and a half of the event… and I didn’t wanna hold up the event, so it was really me respecting other people’s time, even though I don’t think that someone like that should get away with those types of actions.” If Kim really cared, she would have gone to the police station, she didn’t however because the time she would have spent doing so, she would not have been paid for.
Kardashian is now planning to hire extra security guards to protect her from any similar incidents in future, but she insists the animal rights activist’s messy protest won’t stop her from wearing fur: “What I choose to do in my personal life, I think is a personal choice and that’s that… At the end of the day, if you’re trying to promote non-violence towards animals, why are you trying to be violent towards humans?” Nicely said Kim, perhaps you and the Trump Brothers can go on a trip together and take some lovely pictures of the wildlife you encounter, after you’ve killed them of course.

The Wolfpack will be back. Hangover Part 111

Categories: Uncategorized

Back in May last year we got to see The Hangover Part II and while it didn’t break any formulas or depart too drastically from the original movie, it still managed to do well in the box office. Today we have learned that there is going to be a THIRD and final installment in The Hangover series, making a trilogy of this comedy franchise

The Hangover Part III will star Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, who will reprise “the wolfpack” with their notorious roles of Phil, Stu and Alan. Part II was pretty much exactly like the original film, but set in Bangkok. I enjoyed the first and second, but I know that a lot of other people found part II to be fairly boring and unremarkable and will question why they are doing a third installment. The franchise has done extremely well though in the box office, which explains why they are doing another one.

In making the announcement, they stated, “We are extremely pleased to have Todd Phillips and the guys back together again for another ‘Hangover,’ and we look forward to collaborating with them on another great movie.” Phillips said, “I’m so excited to embark on another ‘Hangover’ film with Bradley, Ed and Zach. We’re going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions.”

Production on the film is projected to begin in September and it is due for release in May 2013. Look, I’m kinda excited about another installment. I’m interested to see what they come up with given that they have said that this is the third and final installment in a 3-part opera. I guess it could really go either way and ruin the success of the first two or totally blow us all away. I personally hope that they shake up the formula a little bit and do something slightly unexpected.

Christian Slater Is Psyched About ‘Breaking In’ Season 2

Categories: Uncategorized

Christian Slater is psyched for “Breaking In” Season 2. After all, the new season almost didn’t happen. In an interview with “Good Day NY,” (weekdays, 9 a.m. ET on Fox) Slater could barely contain his excitement about Meghan Mullally joining the cast, his character Oz’s Star Trek chair, and well, the joys of seeing himself on TV.

Slater beamed about comedienne Mullally, who joined “Breaking In” this season as Veronica, a character who originally posed as a temp secretary, but was actually the head of a company looking into acquiring Contra Security. Slater had nothing but good things to say about his new TV boss. “Megan Mullally from ‘Will and Grace … great actress, full of energy, and she loves to throw money around, as you can see,” he said.

Slater also discussed his own character, who’s the ring leader of the information security firm at the center of the show. “This character Oz is a lot of fun. My favorite thing about this guy is that he gets to sit in the Captain Kirk chair from the original [Star Trek] series … this guy is definitely the captain of this particular ship, which I enjoy,” Slater beamed. Later, he told more stories about the chair. “I was naked in the Kirk chair, covered he roses.”

But then Slater got distracted … by himself. Looking around the studio, he commented, “There’s all these monitors and things, and I’m a phenomenal narcissist! I see myself in every frame, it’s crazy. I’m in heaven!”

Trump’s Sons Hunting Trip Probed By Zimbabwe Officials

Categories: Uncategorized

HARARE, Zimbabwe — Zimbabwean conservationists said Friday they are investigating the legality of a hunting spree in the country by the heirs to U.S. magnate Donald Trump’s fortune after photos showed up online of the brothers posing with dead game animals.

The independent Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force said that Trump’s sons Donald Jr. and Eric killed an elephant, an endangered leopard, a buffalo, a crocodile and other “big game” animals on a 2011 trip arranged by a South African safari firm that is not registered in Zimbabwe.

Photographs of the brothers – one with the slain leopard and another showing one brother holding up an elephant’s severed tail in one hand and a knife in the other – have been were withdrawn from at least one website after a flurry of protests.

Animal protection groups were outraged how “rich people” had boasted about their “shocking and unethical” behavior, the trust said.

Johnny Rodrigues, the head of the conservationists’ alliance, said investigators are sifting through records on whether license and trophy fees were paid and if the South African firm had been cleared by Zimbabwe wildlife authorities to operate in the northwestern province near Victoria Falls.

Safari trips routinely require supervision by Zimbabwean rangers and licensed local hunters.

If they are found to have breached hunting laws, organizers and hunters can face imprisonment or a fine of up to $500,000, Rodrigues said.

“The safari operator was obviously paid but the majority of the money probably didn’t come into Zimbabwe,” he said.

Claims by the Trump brothers they gave the meat from dead animals to impoverished local villagers were also being checked. There are no villages in the northwestern Matetsi district of Zibabwe where they hunted.

“It is an insult to say ‘we gave away the meat.’ They mustn’t turn around and say that they shot those animals for conservation either,” Rodrigues told The AP.

“This is the problem with those who they think they can come to manipulate and control people, destroy natural resources and say ‘we came to help.’ We don’t want them here,” he said.

The Trump brothers have said they were hunting last year in an area with an excess of elephants.

In recent years Zimbabwe has not been able to cull elephants in districts where increasing herds are destroying the bush habitat that other species depend on.

Veteran animal rights campaigner Meryl Harrison of the Veterinarians for Animal Welfare in Harare said she was “absolutely disgusted” by photographs of the brothers with animals they shot and the international publicity they’ve received.

“You shoot an animal and you pose with the dead animal? Is it glorifying hunting? I think it is just sickening,” she said. “I just wonder what Donald Trump says, as he is against hunting.”

Zimbabwe is further investigating reports that hunting dogs were used on last year’s trip.

Harrison said Zimbabwe’s Wildlife Act of 2000 prohibits hunters from using dogs to hunt leopard or any wildlife unless given special authority in certain conditions.

“A leopard doesn’t stand a chance. The dogs chase it up a tree and they stay at the bottom of the tree and the hunter takes an easy shot,” she said.

Whitney Houston’s Deadly Cocaine Cocktail: Who Cleaned Up The Evidence?

Categories: Uncategorized

Cocaine played a major role in the tragic death of Whitney Houston, yet no traces of the illegal substance were found anywhere in the hotel room where she died — leading many to ask, who cleaned up the scene before authorities arrived?

On Thursday the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office released the 48-year-old singer’s official cause of death, stating she drowned because of heart disease and cocaine use.

Just one month after her death, Whitney’s sister-in-law  Patricia Houston revealed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that it was her assistant, Mary, who first found Whitney drowned in the Beverly Hilton Hotel bathtub and it was her brother and Whitney’s bodyguard, Ray, who performed CPR to the point of exhaustion before paramedics arrived.

“As I got closer and I turned the corner, Mary’s at the door and she’s screaming ‘Oh my God.’ I told her to stop — I said ‘Calm down, please,’” Patricia told Oprah as she relived the scene.

“When I got into the room, I saw my brother Ray, the security guard, trying to revive her to the point of exhaustion and I called his name. I said ‘Ray, let it go.’ They asked him to move, he was on his knees, and he said ‘I tried.’ I felt so badly for him.”

But while Mary was in hysterics and Ray tried to save her life, who was cleaning up?

Whitney’s 19-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, told Oprah she spent the night with her mother but that day her aunt, Patricia, says she was on the balcony in a neighboring room when Whitney’s body was found.

Authorities stated during their initial investigation that no illegal drugs were found at the scene, yet toxicology reports state, “Cocaine and metabolites were identified and were contributory to the death. Marijuana, Alprazolam (Xanax), Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) and Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) were identified but did not contribute to the death.”

Cocaine residue and traces of drug use had to be evident in the hotel room, with someone from her team scrambling to clean up the scene before authorities arrived.

While a 911 call was placed to the Beverly Hills Police Department at 3:43 p.m. on February 11 and they were on the scene in two minutes, the I Will Always Love You singer was pronounced dead just 12 minutes later, at 3:55 p.m. with no indication as to how long her entourage waited or attempted to save her life on their own before making the call.

Who else was in that room and who cleaned up what ultimately contributed to the troubled star’s shocking death?
