I don’t know about you, but I dislike Kate Winslet a little bit more every time she opens her mouth. Unfortunately with the release of Titanic 3D we have had to endure her more than one would like lately. The pretentiousness in her voice is what bothers me the most. Perhaps it’s the ancient, and if it is, so be it, she’s still annoying.
With the release of Titanic she has obviously been asked questions relating to her experience with that movie. This was her response when asked about the title song, “My heart will go on.”’ “I feel] like throwing up [when I hear it]. No, I shouldn’t say that. No, actually, I do feel like throwing up. I wish I could say, ‘Oh listen, everybody! It’s the Celine Dion song!’ But I don’t. I just have to sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced with a massive internal eye roll.” Hey, I am sick of the Song as well, not because of the movie, more due to the fact the sound of Celine Dion’s voice gives me agonizing convulsions. Kate also has an opinion about being on boats. She says, “Honestly, I actually now get onto boats and say, ‘No jokes, okay? No jokes. Can we just move on from that? And if you have any jokes, let’s just get them out of the way right now. Thank you. Anyone? Jokes, jokes? Okay, moving on.” Now come on Kate, when are you on a boat with “common” folks? The only boat you are on is also known as a yacht and having to deal with Titanic jokes that aren’t in good fun, I highly doubt.
I think Kate has to realize that although Titanic was released many years ago, it is one of the most successful movies of all time. It will outlast her and me and more importantly, “made” her career and without it, she’d just be another actress looking for work and her big break.
